A workers manual

The Bible says that we are to do works for God. Works do not save but faith without works dead.

14 "What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?

15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,

16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?

17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?"

-James 2:14-20

 Without works we are just living a lazy life and are not saved. We don't do our own works we do the works of God. Jesus said not those who say Lord Lord go to heaven but only those who do the will of His Father:

"Not every one that saith unto Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter into the Kingdom of Heaven, but he that doeth the will of My Father who is in Heaven"

-Matthew 7:21

 Works bring glory to God and advance His purposes. Without works we have no faith. Without faith it is impossible to please God Hebrews 11:16. Many religions rely on works to save them but their works do not save because they are in sin and have no faith in Christ. 

What is work and why do we need to work? The concept of labor and working a job came into creation as a curse from the fall. Because of Adam's sin God said he needed to work to the sweat of his brow Genesis 3:19. So now because of the fall man has to work to make a living to support himself and his family to make money and feed himself to live. The Bible says if any does not provide for his own house he is worse than an infidel 1 Timothy 5:8. Living lazy in sloth and living off other people and the government is sin. The Bible says those who should not work should not eat 2 Thessalonians 3:10. So it's very important to have a job. There are different types of works. There are general works which is works that we do in general such as volunteer, taking care of the poor, humanitarian, or whatever else. There is professional work such as having a job and there is ministry work where people preach the gospel and minister to other people 

The most important thing about having any job is to glorify God first of all, the second is to have a good work ethic. Many lazy people work and have jobs. Maybe may have a job but not everyone does their job. Slacking off on your job is lazy and a sin. Having a good attitude is also important at your job. Workers are to honor and obey their bosses . Bosses are likewise commanded to be just and fair to their bosses and treat them with respect not like slaves and peasants. Their workers are the ones that run their company and gets their work done for them. Without them working together there is not a good work environment. Team work is a key. 

"Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ;"

But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
