The Meaning of Yom Kippur
Today it's Yom Kippur which is not technically considered a Christian holiday so I don't advise people to celebrate it. Judaizers and Jews celebrate Yom Kippur but they don't understand the spiritual significance and importance of it and the fact that it points to Christ along with the animal sacrifice system of the Old Testament:
Leviticus 16:30
“For on that day shall the priest make an atonement for you, to cleanse you, that ye may be clean from all your sins before the LORD.”
King James Version (KJV)
On this day the nation of Israel would make a sacrifice to make an Atonement for their all their sins and have their sins cleansed. This festival is fulfilled in what Christ did on the cross for us when He shed His blood on the cross to purge us and redeem us from sin and then rise from the dead. Jesus is the sinless Lamb of God and the only one would could sacrifice Himself to turn away the wrath of God from us and give us salvation
There's so many people that are on the way to hell right now because they are living in sin. They are fornicators, Homosexuals, effeminate, adulterers, drunks, smokers, etc. They continually live in sin and they don't even realize that they're going to hell. They are lost and without Christ. Sin separates us from God and sends us to hell but with the sacrifice that Jesus Christ did on the cross for us we have an Atonement and a way to have salvation and forgiveness of sin. If we repent and put our faith in Christ as Lord we will be forgiven of our sins and receive that same salvation that Yom Kippur gave to Israel through His blood.
