Catholicism Refuted
Catholicism differs from Christianity in fundamental ways
Catholics teach that we're regenerated by baptism at infancy. The Bible says that children have not yet reached an age where they are accountable to know right from wrong and we are regenerated through repentance and faith not by baptism
Catholics teach that we're saved by works. That you just be a good person, do good deeds and you're saved they say in this modern day you don't even have to have faith in Christ. This is typical of all religions. The Bible says we're saved by grace through faith not by works. If we're saved faith will produce works of righteousness according to James 2. Ephesians 2:8-9
The Catholic Church teaches that the papacy, Church, and tradition is on equal authority as scripture. Scripture is the word of God and it is the ultimate authority and is sufficient 2 Timothy 3:16-17 There is no papacy in the Bible. Peter was not a Pope. He made mistakes and was Rebuked. Even called Satan. Christ is the only head of the Church not a Pope. We need no man to teach us 1 John 2:27
2 Timothy 3:16
King James Version
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
The Catholic Church worships Mary and idols and has graven images all over their Churches. Some of them even say Mary is co redemptive, was never in sin, and remained a virgin for life. The Bible says this is Idolatry. The Bible says that we are to worship only God alone Exodus 20:3-5. God is jealous God. Anything else is an idol. We are to only worship and follow Jesus not His mother. God is the only Saviour. Mary was not Sinless from birth to death. She had sin at some point in her life or she wouldn't of needed salvation. Mary said God was her Savior. Mary was not a virgin for life. Jesus had brothers.
Exodus 20:3-5
King James Version
3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
Catholics pray to the dead. That's necromancy and it's a sin. Deuteronomy 18:10-11. They call priests fathers. The Bible says call no man Father Matthew 23:9. Only God alone can forgive sins.
Matthew 23:9
King James Version
9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.
Catholics teach that the Eucharist is the literal body and blood of Christ and continually sacrifices Christ over and over again which is disgusting and gross and heretical. The body and blood of Christ was meant to have spiritual meaning not cannibalism. Christ only made one sacrifice for sin Hebrews 10:12
Pope Francis says other religions lead to God. Jesus said He's the only way to heaven John 14:6
John 14:6
King James Version
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
The Catholic Church is corrupt. Has pedophilia which is wicked and corrupts children. They taught you could buy people into heaven with indulgences to their Church. That's a heresy. That have also murdered and oppressed people for years and killed people that read the scriptures, and they killed Jews and Muslims during the crusades and the Inquisition.
The Catholic Church leads to hell but they can be saved if they repent and come out and follow Christ.
"1670 persons belonging to the Catholic clergy who were accused of sexual abuse of minors were identified from their personnel files, corresponding to 4.4% of the clergy overall. 3677 victims of sexual abuse could be linked to the accused persons; 62.8% of them were male, and 66.7% were under 14 years old when the abuse took place. The mean duration of the abuse in individual cases was 1.3 years. “Hands-on” abuses (i.e., abuses involving bodily contact) occurred in more than 80% of cases. Many of the affected persons suffered serious consequences for their health and social functioning. The ones most commonly reported were anxiety, depression, mistrust, sexual problems, and difficulties with interpersonal contact."
For 1485 accused persons (88.9%), information about their age at the time of the alleged first abuse offense was available. The mean age was 42.6 years (SD = 11.4 years, 95% confidence interval [CI]: [42.0; 43.1]), with a range of 20 to 82 years.
In 472 of the accused clergy (28.3%), evidence of sexual abuse of at least two minors aged 13 years or younger and of abuse occurrences over a period of more than six months was identified. At the time of the first offense, these 472 clergy were significantly younger (aged between 20 and 39 years) compared to those not showing this constellation (χ2 = 14.284; p<0.001. According to the personnel records, a criminal complaint was filed in 38.3% of cases. A separate analysis of the criminal files found that 67.1% of criminal proceedings were discontinued, largely because of limitation. Only in one of the cases with final judgment made by a court, the person charged was acquitted."
"Pope Francis went further than any of his predecessors in recognizing the value of non-Christian traditions. “All religions are paths to God,” Francis told a group of young people. “There is only one God, and religions are like languages, paths to reach God. Some Sikh, some Muslim, some Hindu, some Christian.”
